I went in for surgery on the 19th and they removed my left kidney and the attached adrenal gland as advertised.
After waiting over a week, I finally got the pathology report back from wherever pathology reports come from. The report stated that I had an 8cm mass that was determined to be a Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma (a cancer, lower grade), but large and all the margins were negative.
I was not aware of how much I had been stressing about that until I got the news and almost passed out.
I have a follow-up appointment on March 4th at which time I expect to get the 'all clear' with a few provisos and addendums such as eat anything you want, but nothing you like and do anything you want to do as long as it's not fun.
They seriously reminded me that now I only have 1 kidney and it has a 7mm stone in it. They said I need to eat healthy and take care of it. I reminded them that I've had one liver my entire life and ... ... ... you get my drift.
I'm feeling pretty good about things and It's going to be a lot tougher to get me to sweat the small stuff.
I want to remind you that if you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong - Also, anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
